Bollywood celebrated Diwali in a grand manner. Or at least as grand as it could get, given the pandemic and the Government’s ban on bursting crackers.

Ranveer Singh and Deepika Padukone posted a photo of them smiling, dressed in ethnic, and wished their fans and everyone a very Happy Diwali. Deepika Padukone is still slaying it with her smile, which was a talking point during her wedding as well. She broke an important barrier by smiling for the wedding photos, which was something that no bride did, before Deepika did. She’s also all pearls in the Diwali photo.

Virat Kohli also wished everyone a very happy Diwali. Anushka Sharma, who is now expecting their first child, also posted a ‘all dressed up and nowhere to go photo’ on her Instagram.

Shah Rukh Khan also extended Diwali happiness to his fans with a single photo on Instagram. It was a stark difference from the party that he had in 2018. Shah Rukh Khan has signed up for Pathan, his first movie post a string of movies that didn’t work well at the box office.

Ekta Kapoor had a great bash too. Everyone from Mouni Roy to Hina Khan to Mukesh Chhabra joined the festivities.

Kapil Sharma also posted a photograph on his Instagram account, wishing his fans a very happy Diwali, with his wife and kids in tow. The entire family color blocked with black. Kapil Sharma has had a great comeback with the Kapil Sharma Show, with the celebrities thronging back to the show. Recently, Akshay Kumar and Kiara Advani were the guests on the show, to promote their movie, Laxmii.

This year also saw three movie releases during the Diwali season, although only one made its way to the theaters. Laxmii and Challang hit the streaming screens and Suraj Pe Mandir Bhaari made it to the theaters. So, Bollywood did have a good time during Diwali.

Anil Kapoor and Varun Dhawan celebrated Diwali with Anil Kapoor’s wife, Sunita and Ranbir Kapoor’s mother, Neetu Kapoor. Neetu Kapoor celebrated the first Diwali after her husband Rishi Kapoor’s demise with the cast of her comeback movie, Jug, Jug Jeeyo.

The joys of Diwali reached overseas as well, with Mohanlal celebrating Diwali with Sanjay Dutt and Maanyata in Dubai. It has been a particularly great year for Sanjay Dutt, who’s returning to form with KGF 2 and also beat cancer.

Here’s wishing everyone a very Happy Diwali and a Prosperous New Year!
