November 2018 is the unforgettable terror striking month in our lives. A group of Pakistani terrorists has carried out a series of attacks across Mumbai for 4 days i.e, from 26th November to 29th November and has taken hundreds of lives. The major bomb attacks have taken place at the famous Taj Mahal Palace Hotel. These 2008 Mumbai attacks have ruined many families. We can see the survivors of the attacks are still suffering.

Based on these 2008 Mumbai attacks also referred to as 26/11, a documentary film, Surviving Mumbai has been made by Victoria Midwinter Pitt in the year 2009. Now, the director Anthony Maras has made a movie, ‘Hotel Mumbai’, based on this documentary focussing on the victims and survivors of the attacks at the Taj Mahal Palace Hotel in Mumbai. This movie stars Dev Patel, Armie Hammer, Nazanin Boniadi, and Anupam Kher in pivotal roles. Check out the trailer right here:


‘Hotel Mumbai’ is a gripping true story of heroism and humanity. The film focuses on the compassion and courage of the renowned chef of Taj Hotel, Hemant Oberoi, and a waiter who choose to risk their lives to protect their guests and how a couple is forced to make unthinkable sacrifices to protect their newborn child.

On 7th September 2018, this movie was premiered at the Toronto International Film Festival and on 10th October 2018, it had its Australian premiere at the Adelaide Film Festival. ‘Hotel Mumbai’ was released in Australia on 14th March 2019 and in the United States on 22 March 2019. In India, it is going to release on 29th March 2019.

To make the ‘Hotel Mumbai’ movie as real as possible, the director Anthony Maras has gone through the numerous accounts from survivors and actual phone intercepts of the terrorists. He also managed to show why the terrorists were prime targets for radicalization. So, Hotel Mumbai is extremely well-made and worth watching the movie.
