‘Once Upon a Time in Mumbai’ is based on the real-life incident between Haji Mastan and Dawood Ibrahim. In this movie, the director Milan Luthria focussed on the life of Haji Mastan (played by Ajay Devgn) and how the Dawood Ibrahim (played by Emraan Hashmi) who was once working under Haji Mastan rose to become the don of Bombay. Shootout at Lokhandwala

This movie is based on the real-life shootout that happened in Mumbai at Lokhandwala Complex in the year 1991. The film dramatizes the real-life gun shootout between a much-feared gangster, Maya Dolas with his gang, and the Mumbai police. The lead character was portrayed by Vivek Oberoi and he much accolades for his performance and also won IIFA award for the Best Villain.

Haseena Parkar (2017)

This movie is based on the life of lady-gangster and sister of Dawood Ibrahim, Haseena Parkar. She was considered as the mafia queen of Mumbai. In this film, Shraddha Kapoor portrayed the character of Haseena and her brother Siddhant Kapoor played as Dawood Ibrahim.

Daddy (2017)

This movie focuses on the life of gangster cum politician, Arun Gawli. The director Ashim Ahluwalia showed how a dreaded gangster of India, Arun Gawli became a politician and how he became ‘Daddy’. In this movie, Arun Gawli’s character was portrayed by Arjun Rampal.


This movie is based on the D-Company which is the underworld gang of Dawood Ibrahim and Chhota Rajan and their split. The “Company” also shows how the Bollywood went into trouble after the split of these gangsters. The Ajay Devgn and Vivek Oberoi has played the main leads and received rave reviews from the audience for their performance.
