Karan Johar is not on a roll. He has been at the epicentre of controversies since a while. And now, there’s an unsavoury update on the professional front. There’s no official reason out here, but the current economic situation might have played a role in this decision.
Also, Takht is a historical, and the total budget would be about 300 crores, making it another biggie, with Karan already bankrolling movies like Dostana 2, Bhramastra, Liger and others. Karan has already decided to rope in two of the actors from Takht, Alia Bhatt and Ranveer Singh for another love story, with which Karan will also return back to directing.
Karan Johar is popular for his big ticket movies. This would have been one of his few movies that were a visual spectacle. Industry insiders say that this was Karan’s dream project since a few years. But the execution didn’t material for a couple of years. Takht was the story of Aurangzeb and Dara, and would have told the story of the two brothers battling each other for the throne.
