The prestigious London Indian Film Festival (LIFF) is Europe’s largest Indian film festival. This year, Roam Rome Mein starring Nawazuddin Siddiqui selected for LIFF 2020. Along with Roam Rome Mein, Vidya Balan’s short film Natkhat will also premiere at the London Indian Film Festival 2020.

Tannishtha Chatterjee directorial Roam Rome Mein is a psychological drama. The title ‘Roam Rome Mein’ means ‘Every Inch of my Being’. Tannishtha Chatterjee played the female lead in this film. This is the story about a brother who goes to Rome in search of his sister who left her home in search of freedom to escape their strict and conservative Father. During the search process, he deconstructs the deep-rooted patriarchy of the society he lived in. He suddenly finds himself questioning all the values that he held sacred and also taken for granted. This is the first movie for Tannishtha Chatterjee as a director. The movie also stars Valentina Corti and the Indian and Italian ensemble cast.

Produced by Ronnie Screwvala and Vidya Balan, the short film Natkhat addresses the hard-hitting problems of patriarchy and toxic masculinity. The film also deals with several other sensitive topics like gender inequality, rape culture, domestic violence, and more. Directed by Shaan Vyas, this movie marks Vidya Balan’s debut as a producer. In the film, Vidya Balam plays the role of a doting mother who tries to educate her seven-year-old son about gender equality. Sanika Patel, a girl, played the role of a young boy, Sonu. This short film is written by Annukampa Harsh and Shaan Vyas. Natkhat also premiered on YouTube as part of the We Are One: A Global Film Festival.
