Shahid Kapoor is in full-swing to resume the shooting for his upcoming movie Jersey this month. The film shooting going to start in Chandigarh and at present the filmmakers working out the logistics.
Due to the global pandemic, many movie shootings had come to a standstill and Shahid Kapoor’s Jersey was also one of them. However, as the country slowly getting back to normalcy, the production houses resumed their works. On the same line, the shooting for the movie Jersey is also resuming. Now, Shahid is ready to put on his helmet, pull up his socks and hit the pitch this September-end in Chandigarh. The makers decided to wrap up the shoot of Jersey in this schedule itself. In Chandigarh, some crucial sports scenes will be shot. Shahid Kapoor going to take cricket training next week to brush up his cricket skills.
Jersey is a sports drama film which is a remake of the Telugu blockbuster movie with the same title. In Telugu Jersey, South Indian actor Nani played the lead role. Along with Shahid Kapoor, the film also stars Mrunal Thakur and Pankaj Kapur. Mrunal Thakur going to play the female lead. Directed by Gowtam Tinnanuri, the movie revolves around the life of the retired cricketer who is striving to make a comeback. The film is jointly produced by Allu Aravind, Aman Gill, and Dil Raju.
Shahid Kapoor’s father Pankaj Kapur is also a part of this film. He will also be shooting for Jersey amidst the lockdown. Shahid is going to play the role of the retired cricketer and Pankaj Kapur to play his mentor in the movie. Initially, the movie scheduled to release on August 28, 2020. But, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, it is delayed.
