Varun Dhawan and Anushka Sharma’s Sui Dhaaga – Made in India has been selected in the competition category at the Shangai International Film Festival and Road Film Week. This film was produced by Yash Raj Films and directed by Sharat Katariya based on the narrated the story of an innocent village couple Mauji and Mamta who dream big to start their own business together and finding love and respect through self-reliance.

The film Sui Dhaaga – Made in India has brought together National Award-winning producer and director Maneesh Sharma and Sharat Katariya after their hit film Dum Laga Ke Haisha.

Producer Maneesh Sharma told in a statement that, “The story of ‘Sui Dhaaga – Made in India’ is to inherit the entrepreneurial spirit of local artisans in India. An engaging tale regarding independence seen through a young couple’s determination against all the odds, we also believe that this human theme had universal appeal across the globe.”

He, also, added, “I eagerly look forward to the audience response at The Shanghai International Film Festival and Road Film Week.”

Actor Varun Dhawan, who played the lead in the movie co-starring Anushka Sharma, took to his twitter to share this good news with his fans. He posts that, “Mauji Mamta shall be at the Shanghai international film festival as the only Hindi film chosen for the competition.”

Anushka Sharma, who played the lead, had made the movie famous even before it released because of the trolls on one of her scenes from the movie went viral. She took to her Twitter post, “I have full confidence that film has the potential to attract audiences around the world. It is also special that our film Sui Dhaaga – Made in India has been selected in the competition category at The Shanghai International Film Festival and Road Film Week. It indicates that the power of good content can cut across language and cultures.”

The 2019 Shanghai International film festival will start on June 15 and ending on June 24.
